In short and in plain language
LWF is the Bavarian State Institute of Forestry.
It puts out short guides on forests and wood.
They say, for example, how much wood is in a stacked cubic metre. The figures are only rough values.
Definition
LWF stands for Bayerische Landesanstalt für Wald und Forstwirtschaft, the Bavarian State Institute of Forestry. It publishes leaflets on forests and wood, for example on split firewood and on the energy content of wood. Firewood sellers find conversion values there between stacked cubic metres, Ster and loose cubic metres as well as figures on water content; the LWF expressly describes these values as guide values.
